Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio beats up a sheriff from Davao during a demolition’s row in one of the community in the local area where the residents had resisted the demolition team. The daughter of former Mayor and current vice-mayor Rodrigo Duterte lost her temper and punched the sheriff in front of many witnesses.
Mayor Duterte never regretted her action of throwing at least four punch to the face of Sheriff Abe Andres. According to her she asked the sheriff to wait for her for just two hours to discuss the matters together with the residents but the sheriff refused to do so instead continued the demolition.
The Mayor was attending some victims due to flash floods that hit Davao City. With her confrontation against the demolition team she was quoted as saying “I was only asking for two hours. Two hours. Why can’t you give that to us? Why do you insist on serving the notice? Do you think the residents will just allow you to demolish their houses without them giving out a fight?” she said.
The sheriff Abe Andres was hit with three to four punches on the face when he approached the Mayor and he explained that he was just following orders from Judge Emmanuel Carpio of the Regional Trial Court’s Branch 16.
Sheriff Abe Andes suffered contusions below his left eye and ended up seeking medical attention after the incident. Mayor Duterte offered to bring him to the hospital but he refused and he had gone to the hospital on his own effort.
