It was just about last year, 20th of December when the total lunar eclipse happened in Earth and now recently, this phenomenon again took place on June 15, 2011.
According to the NASA Eclipse website, “The entire event will be seen from the eastern half of Africa, the Middle East, central Asia and Western Australia; and observers throughout Europe will miss the early stages of the eclipse because they occur before moonrise.”
By their reports, only Northern Scandinavia and Scotland, which are part of Europe will not be able to see the said eclipse. NASA claimed that Uruguay, Eastern Brazil, and Argentina will have the chance to totally witness the said movement of the moon.
Unfortunately, some countries including Northeast China, Japan, New Guinea, Central Siberia, New Zealand, Eastern Mongolia and Eastern Australia will eventually catch a glimpse on it by next day (June 16) due to the International Date Line the said eclipse crosses.
But, let’s not lose hope for there’s always a second chance to spot this wondrous event. Another total lunar eclipse will soon again take place this December 2011.
Be ready to set our eyes on.
