Hackers stolen personal data from Codemasters in UK

codies2codemasters.com – would remain offline “for the foreseeable future.”

Another hacking incident took off and this time hackers targeted the U.K. based Codemasters.

It is considered to be one of British oldest but at the same time leading game developers.

The hacking incident took place June 3 which made its users felt angry for there was no early announcement that the incident had already took place.

In the reports, hackers had taken names, addressed, phone numbers and birth dates but it was good to note that aside from those mentioned, no other data were taken particularly the details involving those of payments.

As  a preventive measure to protect their users and members, just like those other companies who were victims of hacking, they had already advised them to change p(–foul word(s) removed–)words and other vital information if ever they got to log-in in order to free themselves from possible spam.

In their statement said in an interview with BBC, Codemaster said that they had no idea on how the intrusion took place, who were to blame, and who are the responsible but they are sure that the incident had affected them and their members.

For the meantime, the site was set for ‘offline’ until things were fixed for safety.

Code master hacking incident is an addition to the list of high-profile hacking attacks taking place since April starting with the repeated attacks to sites owned and ran by Sony Corp including playstation network,Qriocity, and sonypictures. Further, attacks were made to Lockheed Martin, FBI affiliate Infragard and Citigroup which was hacked last Thursday. Google and PBS were also victims.

The series of attacks were telling those companies that they must strengthen and guard their databases because hackers were anywhere and can do attacks anytime if a chance knocks in.
