Google to abandon older browsers

Google is the world’s leading search engine who had also explored in other fields of services. According to Google, part of their action of dropping the aging browsers is the removal of their specialized services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Talks, Docs and Sites. They came up with these changes in order to bring their services into the next level. Google said that the lower versions of browsers are not safe for browsing and it could not afford to handle the innovations and upgrading of today’s fast changing technology.

With this moved with Google, the remaining percentage of users who are still in the aging browsers had two options: either to update their browsers to the up-to-date one, or to continue using it without the functions offered by Google.

In a report, it was said that Google will drop their support for those belonging to the third eldest versions of browsers and will only continue the bind on testing the browsers capability to the upgraded versions and the higher ones like those of Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

Further, with Google’s action of dropping connections with the older browsers, they are helping in the process of upgrading the old to the new ones. For even if for example, Mozilla Firefox are sending updates and alerts to their users who are in the lower version to upgrade, still, most of them still sticks to that version.

Based on statistics gathered by Microsoft, one of the world’s leading tech giants, globally, there are still 11% of the internet users who are using Internet Explorer 6 that’s why Microsoft is working harder in phasing out the IE6 from their users so that they will adopt with the newer versions.
