Smart Gilas, which is a developmental Philippine basketball team and was sponsored by Smart Communications and by the SBP or known as the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas had brought home the bacon during their play against the Syria’s Al-Jala’a.
It was a very big surprise for the team because Syria led the game in its first half with the score of 41-34, but because of the double figured shots made by its players Japhet Aguilar, Marcus Douthit, and JV Casio, the team recovered from the game over the Syrians.
After winning the game over Jordan, Rajko Toroman, who is currently the Philippines National Team Project Director for Basketball, said that their game against Syria is the most important.
It was reported that the next opponent of the team will be the Iran’s Mahram that will be held on June 4 at exactly 6 pm at the Philsports arena.
