After the debate that happened in the House of Representative last Wednesday between Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao and Minority Leader Edcel Lagman over the Reproductive Health Bill, the world’s boxing champ is now getting different feedbacks, both positive and negative in regards with his stand to the RH Bill.

Ramon San Pascual, Executive Director of the Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population and Development said that obviously Pacquiao allowed himself to be used by others as a popular image of the anti-RH bill because even he is not aware of the RH bill and the issues surrounding it.

He even described Manny Pacquiao as a “robo-boxer” claiming that Pacquiao is being used by the Catholic Church as a poster boy contradicting the bill.

According to Gabriela Representative Luz llgan, she advised Pacquiao to get a better trainer because for the last time debate the round goes to Lagman for parliamentary courtesy, patience and tolerance.

“He’s truly a champ! Very brave! It’s not easy to engage Lagman but he did and on the RH topic,” gushed Manila Rep. Amado Bagatsing, himself an anti-RH advocate. “He burned the midnight oil to be able to interpellate with substance.”

On the other hand, San Juan Representative JV Ejercito said that whatever they say or criticize about Pacquiao, its still different because he is still the boxing legend and a national treasure.

Most lawmakers said that the interpellation was a ho-hum affair because after Pacquiao was through with his 30-minute spiel covered live on national TV, they trickled out of the session hall, forcing an adjournment for lack of a quorum.
