Sony Playstation Network offers welcome back package for their gamers

Sony-PSN-Welcome-Back-PackageAfter Sony Playstation  Network begun their relaunch last weekend, they had also announced their offering of “welcome back” package which is an incentive given to their gamers in order to earn back their trust after the major hacking incident took place on their network.

There are various games offered as a “welcome back” package and one of them is Little Big Planet offered to PS3 gamers.

Part of the compensation packages are free games and additional premium content. It also includes 12-month free identity protection program which will give victims fraud support – a helpline and an insurance to cover expenses in restoring identities that were incurred and this will be made available to the gamers in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain.

Playstation blogs contains all the details needed in order to apply the protection program offered by Sony and one of the important thing to remember is that the users who are qualified to apply must be above 18 years old and must be an account holder on April 20,2011.

Sony mentioned in the press release that they are to investigate possible similar programs that are currently used by other countries.

The launching of Sony Playstations “Welcome Back” package was then faced with both praise and criticism from their users.

Many of the gamers said that the games in the package were old and disappointing. However, Sony said that the games they are offering are in good value. He added that the venture for “welcome back” package is just the first step and soon they will announce more plans in order to continue regaining the trust of their members who became victims of the intrusion happened in their network.
