Defeated vice-presidential bet Manuel Roxas will be (–foul word(s) removed–)uming a Cabinet position which function is similar to a presidential chief of staff.

According to Edwin Lacierda Presidential spokesperson said, “The definition of functions must be considered first that there will be no overlapping of functions and in order to avoid friction among, the executive secretaries.

In the Cabinet, the faction “Balay” where Roxas is belong, while Paquito ‘Jojo’ Ochoa Executive Secretary is belong to “Samar” faction of the Palace that backed up the vice presidency Jejomar Binay.

The President will see to it and clearly define the roles in order that there will be no overlapping in every position. It is very important that the Cabinet work together as one, so the President will make it sure by defining clearly the roles that there will be no overlapping of functions,” Lacierda told reporters.

However, Lacierda said he doesn’t know Roxas exact job description yet, but the (–foul word(s) removed–)igned position given to Roxas should not require confirmation from the Commission on Appointments.

“Most likely it’s not, because he is not line (agency),” Lacierda said. And the budget for Roxas may be sourced from the Office of the President, added Lacierda.

Lacierda was citing the former President Arroyo who have maintained chiefs of staff during her term, among them now Chief Justice Renato Corona, Mike Defensor and Rigoberto Tiglao.
