Daphne Joy and Michael Rosales the two Filipino-American actors joined the new episodes of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”
“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Rob Marshall. The film surrounded with fun, adventure and humor that escalate the hit franchise in Disney Digital 3D.
Angelica (Penélope Cruz) the mysterious character in the story together with Jack Sparrow (Depp) a man not certain of his love whose destination is to find the enchanted Fountain of Youth. When he was forced to aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, Jack surprisingly discovered himself whom to fear more, Blackbeard (Ian McShane) or Angelica.
Michael Ilano Rosales a Filipino multicultural talented actor and a rap artist was chosen to play the role as a “pirate from a pool of over 4,000 aspirants. It is his first ever acting audition in the Hollywood a journey to take him from his home in Hawaii to London where the shooting scene “On Stranger Tides” will be taken.
Daphne Joy from Olongapo, Philippines latter her family relocated to ‘Los Angeles’ when she was 8-year-old but she was able to preserved her Filipino culture. Considering the recent hit ‘Just Go with It’ and such popular ‘TV shows’ as ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,’ ‘Criminal Minds’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ to her credits.
By influencing her new world of pop culture, she became interested in entertainment. She got involved in several stage exposures such as choir, dance groups, talent shows, and cheerleading. Her previous endeavors become a stepping stone to shift her interest to acting which gives her a break to work in front of the camera. She was also featured in several lists of recording artists’ music videos, national print campaigns, commercials, magazine covers and features.
The film “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is distributed by ‘Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International’ through ‘Columbia Pictures’”. The opening will be on May 2011.
