Armless Filipino-American Pilot Offers Medal to Pope Benedict XVI -Video

Another honor has been brought by a Filipino-American to the country as she was awarded a medal by the Guinness World Records as the first female pilot to fly a plane using only her feet.

Jessica Cox was a half Filipino and half American who was born with no arms. With the help and the support of her family, Jessica was able to do things that she wants despite of her disability. She was active to several sports including gymnastics, taekwondo and swimming.

In her trip to Rome, Italy, Jessica went to meet personally Pope Benedict XVI to offer to him the medal that she received from Guinness.

According to Jessica, she was not expecting that the Pope will embrace her to the face. She offered to Pope Benedict XVI her medal but the Pope did not response to it. She then said to the Pope; “can you please pray for my mother who is sick and my brother who will become a priest” and the Pope respond “Yes, I will”.

It was in the year 2008 when Cox decided to become a pilot. She earned her license and was recognized by the Guinness as the first female pilot to fly a plane using her feet.

It was the video sharing site YouTube who gave way for Jessica Cox to be recognized by the Guinness World Record. When officials from Guinness saw her video, she was then emailed by them offering her to appear on Guinness World Record Show.

Her medal symbolizes the importance of her life, with or without disability.

Jessica did not forget to praise the lord God for the gift that she has and said that it was not a mere human ability that made her get the medal but it was really from above.

She even leaved a message to her co-Filipino people saying that greatest lesson she has learned is “Nothing is Impossible”. This is the only things she has proven fro the 28 years of her existence in the world.
