Lily Collins is decided to play the titular role in Relativity Media’s upcoming Snow White film. The studio confirmed the news on Friday April 1. Daughter of famous singer Phil Collins will join the project with previously decided Armie Hammer and Julia Roberts.
A few days ago, it was reported that ‘The Lovely Bones’ starer Saoirse Ronan will play the title role in the film but the 22-year-old actress Lily Collins enhanced Relativity bosses with her audition and grabbed the role of ‘fairest of them all’.
The film, which is not titled yet, will retell the story of the Brothers Grimm’s cl(–foul word(s) removed–)ic fairytale Snow white. Armie Hammer will play the role of prince Andrew Alcott and ‘Pretty Woman’ Julia Roberts will present Evil Queen.
Lily Collin is known for her debut role in the 2009 film ‘The Blind Side’ in which she played ‘Collins Tuohy’ (the daughter of Sandra Bullock’ character). Recently she has completed director Scott Charles Stewart’s sci-fi horror film ‘Preist’ which is scheduled to release in May 2011. Also, she will appear with ‘Twilight’ starer Taylor Lautner in John Singleto’s action thriller film ‘Abduction’ (September 2011).
Relativity’s 3-D Snow White project will be directed by Tarsem Singh, who directed The Cell (2000) and The Fall (2006), and the film is being produced by Ryan Kavanaugh along with Bernie Goldman and Brett Ratner. Film is planned to release on June 29, 2012.
