The two teams have ensured that this year’s edition of World Cup will surely belongs to one of the South Asian countries.
India was the favorite team for this match not only for the reasons that they were playing in their home court but the mere fact that they came from a huge victory against their arch-rival Pakistan. Sri Lanka on the other hand was now under conditioning for some of their top players were suffering from injuries.
The final match-up will be held on April 02, 2011 at around 09:00 GMT/14:30 Indian Time. It will be held in Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India.

One of the interesting match-up about this two teams were the Team Captains, they were both Wicket Keeper. The openers of this Final match will most probably go in favor of India. With the tandem of Virender Sehwag ang Sachin Tendulkar as openers this team was considered as the most intimidating partnership in the cricket world.
Sri Lankan Team relies mostly from Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene, two of the most prolific Sri Lankan athlete. Sri Lanka’s strength came from the bowling department. They have conceded fewer runs (1328 runs in 7 innings at an average of 190 runs per innings) than India (1996 runs in 8 innings at an average of 250 runs per innings) at a distinctly more economical run rate (4.4 runs per over vs 5.2).
