AFC Chairman Mohammed Bin Hammam Confirms His FIFA Presidential Bid

Asian Football Federation Chairman Mohammed Bin Hammam from Qatar have decided to contest against Sepp Blatter for the FIFA Presidency. Mohammad Bin Haman have served for 15 years as member of the 24 man FIFA executive committee.

The FIFA presidency will be decided at the FIFA House in Zurich during the 61st FIFA Congress to be held on May 31 to June 01, 2011.  FIFA President Sepp Blatter have been the head of the world’s most popular sports for almost 30 years.

Asian Football Federation was composed of 46 member countries. It was founded in Manila, Philippines on May 8, 1954. It was one of the 6 continental football federation in the world with headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Under the presidency of Mohammed Bin Hammam in Asian Football Confederation he was able to bring Asian football to limelight. He was instrumental for the inclusion of Australia to the AFC. The confirmation and qualification of Qatar as the first Middle Eastern Nation to host the 2022 World Cup was one of his achievement.

Joseph S. Blatter more populary known as Sepp Blatter was the current head of FIFA (Federacion Internationale de Football (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation). He has now facing a tough challenger from Asia. His presidency have been under constant attacked of rumored financial controversy.

The 208 (–foul word(s) removed–)ociations of the FIFA member nations will have to decide whether they want Sepp Blatter to continue his reign or will change it for the better and go for an Asian president to handle the job of leading FIFA to greater heights.
