International Atomic Energy Agency updates on nuclear incident

The International Atomic Energy Agency, have released it’s latest updates on the development regarding the nuclear incident in Japan. The IAEA was an international organization which seeks to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The IAEA’s update on the latest development was an (–foul word(s) removed–)urance that there was no nuclear meltdown in the Fukushima nuclear facility. On a press released sent to the Philippine’s Department of Foreign Affairs, dated March 14, 2011. The possibility of a meltdown was far from happening.

According to IAEA, the recent explosion at Unit 1 reactor occurred outside the primary containment vessel which housed the reactor core itself. The plant operator, Tokyo Power Electric Company have further (–foul word(s) removed–)ured that the primary containment vessels have remained intact.

Reactors 1,2, and 4 remains off-site power ensuring of continued cooling, while reactor 3, is in a safe cold shut-down.

According to IAEA, the use of injected sea water with mixed boron was not a desperate measures by Japanese authorities as what the news media reported, instead it was just a countermeasure to limit damage to reactor core and to avert a meltdown of the facility.

Meanwhile the emergency situation that have been reported by TEPCO to the Japanese government at reactor unit 3, was still under verification by the Agency. The status of high pressure injection system of Unit 3 have not been restarted leaving insufficient coolant according to IAEA.

Whatever the speculations from different experts and news organizations worldwide, people from all parts of the world should not be threatened, we just need to do our part in disseminating the right information and not the hoax. Leave it to the experts on this particular field.
