Show of Force by Saudi Police, Protesters Failed M(--foul word(s) removed--) Action

Saudi Arabian protesters have failed to organized a m(–foul word(s) removed–)ive crowd to express their demands against the Saudi government. The scheduled day of rage turned out to be a day of rest not only for the Saudi’s but for other nationalities as well.

Different emb(–foul word(s) removed–)ies in the Kingdom have warned their people to postponed any large gatherings and activities outside. Large crowds should be avoided and more preferably to stay at home during the time of protests.

M(–foul word(s) removed–)ive show of force by the Saudi Security Forces have deterred the movement of Saudi protesters. The warnings that have been circulated by the Interior Ministry against demonstration have proven to be effective.

Aside from the police presence that overwhelmed the Saudi protesters especially in the oil-rich region of the eastern province have quelled the scheduled day of rage yesterday march 11, 2011. Streets were already cleared in the neighboring towns of Awwamiyah and Qatif during the entire day.

Police officers and Jawasat or Saudi Interior Ministry Officers have patrolled the streets of Dammam and Al-Khobar, the neighboring cities of Qatif  where large numbers of Filipinos were concentrated.

Checkpoints have been put in place, the anticipation of Saudi government paved the way for a low turn-out of saudi protesters. Security Forces were even using helicopters in Qatif as well as the capital city of Riyadh.

Another factors that leads to low turn-out was the uncertainty of leadership among the protesters. Shiites sect have no idea on what to do next if they were arrested. People were afraid also against the government who encouraged also religious leaders to participate in convincing possible protesters to stay obey the the Islamic Law.

Three people have been hurt in the town of Qatif on Thursday night, a day before the day of rage, wounded by bullets from Saudi police after the protesters clashed with riot police.

The scheduled day of rage in Saudi Arabia have failed but the organizers of the Shiite protesters have warned that they are just regrouping and from anytime soon they will emerged victorious.
