“Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend” is not actually referring to his real girlfriend, Selena Gomez. “Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend” is actually a song sung by a 14 years old Monett, Missouri native named Michaela Wallace, who also wrote the song with Nashville songwriter Deanna Harper when Harper saw Michaela’s videos on Facebook and contacted her to do the video.
“I really do like Justin Bieber, but…I wanted to write a song that could relate to all those girls out there that love him and want to be his girlfriend–not because I wanted to be his girlfriend,”Wallace said.
The video of the song tells about how Wallace attends Justin’s concert and personally meet him through the concert tickets she received in the mail, but Wallace did not actually meet Justin in the concert, for they played a video game together.
According to Wallace, she was nervous when she met Justin Bieber, but he was really cool and made her feel comfortable. Then, during the concert when he sang ‘U Smile,’ he came over and sang right to her and her cousin. “That was pretty awesome”, she said.
Michaela’s idea worked out, for now, the “Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend” video receives more than 1 million plays on the Youtube. There are also positive comments about her video like “Great job! You have a very good voice and I hope your dreams come true!” “Love your Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend song!”, “You’re like my idol! GREAT SINGER”, and “Wow.”
The “Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend” has now reached no.32 on iTunes and if Wallace pushes through her career, undoubtedly, she will be the next Taylor Swift.
