Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire have arrived in Manila from Los Angeles, California. He was greeted and welcomed warmly by the City Government of Manila who had considered him as an adopted son of Manila.
The newly-crowned WBC and WBO bantamweight champion have arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Centennial Terminal at around 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, March 9, 2011. He was welcomed warmly by the City government of Manila lead by Mayor Alfredo Lim.
Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim in receiving Donaire was quoted as saying, “I and the entire city of Manila congratulate him. He had an amazing win over Montiel, whom he was already able to knock out as early as the second round,” the statement was made by Mayor Lim as he welcomed Donaire.
A motorcade will be held anytime this week, it depends upon the schedule of Donaire. The Filipino Flash was also busy for his intended visit to his family and for the preparation of their planned wedding with his wife, Rachel.
Donaire who have just earned $350,000.00 on his latest demolition of Fernando Montiel was also preparing for his next fight. His contract with Top Rank will be expired also, a new contract means a lot of money. Golden Boy Promotions was also interested in signing up for Donaire.
