Billion Dollar Worth of Microsoft-Nokia Deal

Microsoft will pay $1 Billion worth of deal to phone manufacturer Nokia from Finland. The news was confirmed by people who are closely working with the possible integration of Windows Phone 7 operating system into Nokia phones. Nokia and Windows top executives could not be reach for comment.

According to Gartner Inc., the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company. The smart phone segments was now dominated by industry giants, Apple iPhone and Android phones from Google.

In view of this development Nokia was doing extensive research to cope up with the fast-rising demands of smartphones  worldwide. Their Symbian operating system was left behind by the more advance iPhone OS and Android OS from Google.

The deal of the two companies will definitely have a chance of getting at phase with the competition against iPhone, Android Phones, and Blackberry smartphones.

Both companies will surely benefit from the project. Microsoft will pay $1 Billion to Nokia in exchange for a pay for each windows software used in the phone. Nokia’s budget for research and development will be reduced for acquiring the OS from Windows.

On the other hand, Microsoft will benefit not only on it’s market share but also in terms of reliability. Microsoft will used Nokia’s Navteq mapping technology for the support of location based advertising.
