United Nation Sanctions Moammar Khadafy

The Security Council of United Nation has moved a powerful bloc trying to halt Moammar Khadafy’s Libyan leader deadly crackdown on protesters Saturday (Sunday in the Philippines).

The United Nation Security Council moved was slapping sanctions on Moammar Khadafy, his 5 children and ten top (–foul word(s) removed–)ociates.

After day-long discussions voting 15-0, the council urged United Nation member an armed embargo and imposed to freeze the (–foul word(s) removed–)ets of Khadafy including his 4 sons and daughter.

A travel ban was also imposed by the Council to Khadafy family and other close (–foul word(s) removed–)ociates and revolutionary committee leaders who are accused of violence against opponent.

President Barack Obama in Washington dropped an order condemning the consequences and reminding Khadafy’s regime about the responsibility to remain the safety of the people.

President Barack Obama Saturday delivered a forceful message calling Gadhafi to step down and held accountable to Libyan government for brutal crackdown on dissenters. Then the new sanction was announced by the administration against Libya.

The United Nation Security Council members agreed to refer the accountability to Khadafy regime whatever deadly crackdown on people’s protest against his rule. The member of the Council expressed their concern regarding the civilian deaths, “rejecting unequivocally the provocation to a highest level of aggression and violence against civilian population made of the Libyan government.”

Ban Ki-moon United Nation Secretary-General congratulated the council members for the unified vote.

“I hope the message is heard,” Ban said.

Mark Lyall Grant British Amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador called the vote “a powerful expression indicating the deep concern of the international community.”

Susan Rice US Amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador said it was “a very powerful message to Libyan leadership to stop heinous killing and held individuals must be accountable.”

Gerard Araud French Amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador said “the tribunal unanimous referral of the case is a good signal to a new commitment by the international community showing responsibility to protect citizens.

“I think the ‘Security Council’ has successfully responded to this new era of international relations. A wind of change and essence of liberty is sweeping throughout the Arab world,” he said.

The deputy of Libya welcomed the sanctions of UN amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador, Ibrahim Dabbashi, whose entire mission around the world is among Libyan diplomats who have renounced Khadafy.

The Director of Human Rights Watch Richard Dicker in international justice program was impressed by the council’s unanimous vote.

“The action of council sends a powerful signal on behalf of justice for the people of Libya and all others, victimized by m(–foul word(s) removed–) force and violence.” Dicker said.

The uprising in Libyan started last February 15.  Khadafy and his backers continue holding the capital of Tripoli and threatened to put down aggressive protesters.

The report said, Khadafy’s government forces abuse the peaceful protesters firing indiscriminately resulting as many as 1,000 people died.
