P2 Million Reward for Capture the Suspect of Ortega Murder in Palawan

Reward of P2-million for the capture of the mastermind and conspirators in the murder of a broadcaster Dr. Gerry Ortega Palawan the environmental defender. The Mayor of Puerto Princesa Hon. Edward Hagedorn raised the reward from P1-million to P2-million.

Mayor Edward Hagedorn was the first who put initial reward of P500,000 in order to intensify the search operation and insure the capture of the suspect Rodolfo Edrad alias “BUMAR” , and Armando Noel alias “SALBAKUTA” and put the conspirators behind the bars in order to prevent them of making turmoil in Puerto Princesa.

Jose Pepito Alvares businessman from Palawan put a counterpart of the same amount to intensify the search operation.

The drive to capture the remaining suspects and to unveil the mastermind of the (–foul word(s) removed–)(–foul word(s) removed–)ination, the movement to seek justice for Ortega were flooded by the m(–foul word(s) removed–)ive and inspiring support made possible to raise another P1-million for reward for the capture of the suspect.

Mayor Hagedorn was the man who first condemns the killing of Ortega, “a colleague in the crusade to preserve the good image and the Mother Nature of Puerto Princesa and to pursue the campaign against illegal logging in Palawan, said Hagedorn.

“Fearless Ortega is a great loss to our battle against the destruction of the Mother Nature. He shows his courage till the very last breath,” said Hagedorn.

At this movement the group of “Save Palawan Movement” (SPM) together with its members and other church leaders issued an appeal to Aquino administration to use all means in order to ensure justice for Dr. Garry Ortega and guard the province from definite destruction of mining companies. They also want to address to the President the unexplained killing problems.

The environmental groups launched a social network campaign in a facebook to gather 10-million signatures as a basis to convince the President Aquino to spare Palawan from definite destruction of mining.

Campaign letter of appeal to the President was signed by Mrs. Patria Ortega-Dr. Garry Ortega’s widow, Bishop Edgardo Juanich, Bishop Pedro Arigo of Puerto Princesa, Representative Dennis Socrates, and Mayor Edward Hagedorn.

The murder of Ortega stained the good image of our city as orderly and peaceful place, and because of this I promise to do and use my power to solve the case” said Hagedorn.
