PAGASA’s Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) Weather Advisory & Hourly Update

Tropical Cyclone Hagupit is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the next few days, the country’s weather bureau released their official Typhoon Ruby Advisory. The second advisory was issued by PAGASA at around 11:00 PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

  • December 3, 2014 at 8:00 AM – Hagupit is at 1,610 km East of Davao City, speed 140 kph. gustiness 170 kph

According to PAGASA, at 8:00 AM today, the Tropical Cyclone Hagupit (Bagyong Ruby) was estimated based on all available data at 1,610 km East of Davao City, with a maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

Bagyong Hagupit is forecast to move West Northwest at 30 kph. The weather disturbance is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow morning and will move closer to Eastern Visayas on Friday.

Right now Hagupit is still too far to affect any part of the country. The weather outlook issued by PAGASA will be updated as significant changes in the weather pattern occur.

PAGASA noted that the next update will be incorporated in the public weather forecast to be issued at 5:00 PM today, while the next weather advisory will be issued at 11:00 AM tomorrow, December 4, 2014.

Some netizens also complaint the speed of the PAGASA website, we urge the government and other concerned agencies to update the website because more and more people are accessing it in time of calamities like this.

Hopefully the DOST will upgrade the website, which the government can surely afford. We will update this post as soon as PAGASA will release the updated reports of Bagyong Hagupit.
