PMA Cadet Found Dead in The bottom of The Academy’s Swimming Pool

Another case of the Philippine Military Academy(PMA) cadet died within the institution’s premises in Baguio City on Friday.

Earlier this year, a case of Philippine Military Academy freshmen cadet Darwin Dormitorio was badly beaten up and maltreated by upper-class fellow cadets due to lost combat boots. It was stated by the chief of the Baguio Police Provincial Office.

Recently, there’s another case where a 4^th class cadet named “Mario Telan Jr. appeared to have drowned in the campus swimming pool.

According to the investigation, he was missing during the mess formation at around 12:15 p.m. Upper-class cadets search for the victim at 1:20 p.m. they proceeded to the PMA’s Jurado Hall and found the cadet’s belongings in the comfort room of the swimming pool.

Based on the report of abs-cbn news, the cadet was found at the bottom of the swimming pool at 2:44 p.m after a long hour searching. He was rushed to Fort del Pilar Station Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.

PMA said in a statement “all needed actions and protocols are being undertaken to deal with any infraction and/or irregularity.” It also added that the swimming classes are suspended until such time that the incident has been properly addressed.

“PMA deeply grieves for this unfortunate loss of one of our sons. All necessary assistance will be extended to the bereaved family and loved ones,” it added.
