ADMITTED: Duterte, Xi Made An Agreement On The West Philippine Sea Issue

Duterte admitted that he and Chinese President Xi already had an agreement on the territorial dispute in West Philippine Sea.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte admitted that he and Chinese President Xi Jinping had arrived at an agreement in connection to the territorial dispute in the West Philippine Sea.

Apart from this, the President admitted that he asked China to allow the Filipino fishermen fish at the Scarborough Shoal.

During his visit at Isabela, one of the places hit by the super typhoon Lawin, President Duterte said that he reiterated to Chinese President Xi during their bilateral meeting that the Scarborough Shoal is owned by the Philippines, based on the decision of the Permanent Court of Arbitration promulgated last July.

The said ruling stated that China’s claim at the South China Sea, also called the West Philippine Sea, has no basis at all.

But according to President Duterte, Xi reiterated that China has historical rights on the disputed territory.
