Kiko Matos Got P100,000?
Kiko Matos, after the much-anticipated match against Baron Geisler was asked how much he got in the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) fight.
In a report by ABS-CBN, Kiko Matos was interviewed in “Tonight With Boy Abunda” cleared the speculations about receiving a total of P100, 000 during the fight.
The said match scheduled for three rounds but was the two fighters can’t go on for another round and ended in two rounds, which concluded in a unanimous draw.
According to Matos, he didn’t receive the said amount. He said that starters like him only get P10,000 to P15,000 each match. But, for known fighters, they get about P50,000 to P80,000.
Since the viral video of them went out and the invitation of the URCC founder Alvin Aguilar for the two settle their differences in the cage, many fans went out for the curiosity it brought.
The said match was done at the Valkyrie Club in Bonifacio Global City on June 25, 2016.
There are speculations and theories circulating that the said match was just a “social experiment”.
Matos said that he wishes it was. “Somebody got hurt. May pumutok ‘yong ano, nasapak din po ako, and if it was a social experiment, would it go to that extent?,” he said.
He was the asked about the purpose why he pursued the fight. He said that he wanted to show everyone that bigger issues are there than just his “match” against Baron.
“Ibinigay ko lang po kung ano ‘yong gusto ng tao, kung ano ‘yong hiningi nila,” [I just gave what people wanted, what they wished.] he said.
