As both already showed their interest of running in the presidential seat next year’s election, newly resigned Interior Secretary Mar Roxas and Vice President Jejomar Binay are still on search of who will be their running mate.
The quest however of the presidential aspirants may prove to be a difficult one as each side haven’t yet came up confirmed veep.
As the Liberal Party continues to win Sen. Grace Poe’s vice presidential race, the senator who earlier declined to be Binay’s veep have not yet confirmed to which higher position she will eye.
University of the Philippines political science professor Ranjiy Rye said Binay will have a harder time in seeking for his vice presidential candidate.
Despite the corruption allegations thrown to Binay, Rye explained that he isn’t just searching for a running mate but also consolidating his forces and seeking to assure the public that his candidacy remains viable.
Various names have floated to possible tight up with Binay but none have been confirmed.
Meanwhile, as LP wants Roxas-Poe, the party is still hoping the lady senator will slide down for Roxas.
Sen. Antonio Trillanes, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos and Sen. Allan Peter Cayetano are among the names floating to be Roxas’ veep. Also none have yet confirmed.
