Former Angelito actor, JM de Guzman withdraw from his highly-anticipated “role of a lifetime” as Pedro Calungsod in the religious-historical-drama film titled, “San Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir,” an official entry to the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
The withdrawal of JM de Guzman in San Pedro Calungsod was confirmed by writer-director of the film, Francis Villacorta, in an exclusive interview made by Pep.Ph last Tuesday, June 2, 2013.
According to the report, the father of JM de Guzman, Roniel de Guzman called on Direk Francis and told the director that he will withdraw the involvement of JM de Guzman in the film because of health reasons.
According to Mr. de Guzman who worked at Manila Bulletin, he don’t want the production team to suffer, because of JM’s current condition which he needs to attend to.
The director of the upcoming movie featuring the second Filipino Saint Pedro Calungsod accepted the decision of JM de Guzman’s withdrawal and currently on the process of an able replacement to play the role of San Pedro Calungsod.
