The Governor-elect of Cebu said earlier that the election results show that the people in Cebu “are tired of the Garcias.” Out of the four Garcias running for elective posts in the entire province, only Nelson Garcia and former Governor Gwendolyn Garcia won.

Nelson Garcia won as Mayor of Dumanjug while Gwen Garcia was proclaimed as Cebu’s third district representative. Former congressman Pablo Garcia, lost to Provincial Board member Wilfredo Caminero in the second district of Cebu while Vice Mayor Marlon Garcia, lost in his bid for Mayor of Barili against incumbent Teresito Mariñas.
