Two Filipino boxers won fights in Pacquiao-Marquez undercard

Aside from the Filipino Boxing Champ, Manny Pacquiao who won against his opponent Juan Manuel Marquez via a majority decision, two of our very own fighters in the undercard of Pacquiao vs. Marquez III has also brought honor to the country.

An impressive win for the two boxers Dennis Laurente and Fernando Lumacad after they have made an impressive performance on the undercard fight and claiming victory over their foes at the MGM Grand Arena at Last Vegas Sunday night.

A knockout win was declared for Filipino boxer Dennis Laurente on the seventh round of his fight against opponent Ayi Bruce. Laurente has released countless of strong punches over Ayi and on 0:57 of the seventh round, his foe has finally give in and was knocked down.

On the other hand, while Laurente rejoices over a KO victory, Fernando Lumacad was given a unanimous decision in favor to the Filipino boxer over Joseph Rios. Scorecards reflect points all siding to Lumacad: 78-72, 77-73 and 77-74.

Although it wasn’t declared as a Knockout win for Lumacad, he was able to dropped Rios during the first and fifth round of their bout.

Their victories last night have improved their professional boxing record, Dennis Laurente’s new record is 38-3-4, 20 while Fernando Lumacad has rose to 25-3-3, 12 of his wins were via Knock out.
