The Philippine Azkals had lost to Kuwait Al-Azraq with the final score at 3-0. The Azkals were not able to depend the midfield and the back line due to the absence of Azkals two reliable defenders, Borromeo and Shrock. Another factors that really affects the performance of the Azkals was the scourging heat reaching at least 44 degrees centigrade although they were playing at night.
The Philippine Azkals played a 4-5-1 formation with Chieffy Caligdong playing at center midfield and the team captain. Angel Guirado moved to the left wing. The 4-5-1 formation uses 4 defenders, 5 midfielders, and lone striker. It is a tactics that will make the offensive team to having difficulty to attacked.
During the first half of the game the Azkals have shown a heart of a tough team to beat. Their determination and good defence was enough to contain the more talented Kuwaitis to only one goal. The Kuwaiti’s have scored from a counter-attacked. Yousef N(–foul word(s) removed–)er had scored for Kuwait during the 18th minute through a header.

Kuwait started it strong at the 2nd half but Philippine Azkals defenders tackle it very well. The score was still 1-0. De Jong gets booked for a foul from behind there is no complain from the players, the Kuwaiti had just made a dramatic reaction.
At around 64th minute Angel Guirado had a chance and breaks through, takes a shot against the crowd just inside the box but is wide feft. After his attempt he went down and was taken out by stretcher there is something wrong with his right leg possibly a cramps.
The Kuwaitis had more possession compared to the Azkals and their p(–foul word(s) removed–)ing had been way up high compared to the Philippine Azkals. At around 68th minute a controversial goal was scored. From a corner, headed by a Kuwaiti and blocked by Neil, the ball drops to the ground in front of the goal chipped in from a scrambled. Goal for Kuwait scores 2-0.
At around 85th minute player #11 from Kuwait takes time to set up and shot just outside the box and slips p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed Neil at the bottom left corner. Weak defense was the reason why the ball had just p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed against four Azkals defenders. Kuwait scored another goal at 3-0.
At the 92nd minute a near goal was put by the Kuwaiti but was saved by goalkeeper Neil through diving the ball. After 94 minutes of play the Azkals was unable to score a goal. One of the things that caused them the loss was the fatigued from the players who were playing without substitution. They were fighting not only against the tougher team but also a humid climate.
The next game will be scheduled at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila. The Azkals needs to score a four goals in order to qualify for the next round. If ever the Azkals can score only 3 goals another extension will be made to determine the winner.

its easy for us to leave a comment regarding their match because were not in their shoes. i think the azkals did what they can, but due to some factors they end up not bagging the goal. well, this must served as their inspiration for the next game. its hard when you set the notion that the team can withstand every other team and then things went not the way you wanted it to be. but non the less, the Filipinos and your family still supports you, kaya lets do it.

I knew it, many of our these “halfies” players dont have a p(removed)ion in football. Well, Dan Palami their manager earns alot from the team – fame, endor(removed)t and sponsorhip. kaya he keeps on recruiting this meztiso looks of players. honestly, Simon Greatwhich, the younghusbands, neil etheridge, Anton Del Rosario ( I love his brother Armand, an ex- azkals, really better than Anton) and the others are really into CELEBRITY life… look their twitter talks, wtf… Many people think they are down to earth, they are not they have to be nice because thats their (removed)et but think about this…. people go gaga over them and they are treating their fans as fans only, you get what I mean? like the UFL vs. Azkals they didnt win… because most of the UFL players are REALLY into football with real PASSION not just to play to gain popularity and perks! I am supporting football in our country but I AM NOT an azkal fanatic, i can say many of these fans dont know what are the mechanics of football game, i will bet they dont know what is offside they just know how to shout, My experience in watching live football game in south america is really different, all the fans understand football game unlike here. Whether you have dark or white complexion it doesnt matter. If you have skills you have opportunity.
We have number of GREAT local footballers than these fil-foreigns recruits. They dont have a chance lang.
