One of the celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry who started their career at a young age is actor Rayver Cruz. He came from a family of famous personalities in the industry.
Rayver Cruz Personal Background
The real name of Rayver is Raymond Oliver Cruz Ilustre. He was born on July 20, 1989 to the late Rodolfo L. Ilustre and Melody “Beth” Cruz. He’s a graduate of Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Management at St. Francis of Assisi College.
Rayver has two (2) brothers – Omar Cruz Ilustre and actor Rodjun Cruz. He is the youngest among the three (3) of them. Their father died of kidney failure in 2009 and, in 2019, their mother succumb to pancreatic cancer.
The actor is nephew of Tirso Cruz and the cousin of actresses Sunshine Cruz, Geneva Cruz, Sheryl Cruz, and Donna Cruz. Currently, he is in a relationship with fellow celebrity Janine Gutierrez.
Rayver Cruz Showbiz Career
The actor is one of the most-talented personalities in the showbiz industry. He is a dancer, an actor, and a television host. His showbiz career started in ABC’s children’s magazine show, 5 and Up, which had him and his brother, Rodjun Cruz, as the host.
In 1994, Rayver became an artist of GMA-7 and he was part of the comedy show Kiss Muna. In 2002, the actor transferred to ABS-CBN Network and became a part of several hit projects under the Kapamilya network. He was also one of the regular performers of the Sunday variety program ASAP.
In 2018, the actor left Star Magic, the talent arm of ABS-CBN. He continued with Bagani as his final project before moving back to GMA-7 after 17 years of stay under the Kapamilya network.
