There are several handsome faces in the showbiz industry who seem to never age despite the passage of years. One of them is actor Albert Martinez who is tagged as the original “Regal Baby” of the 80s.
Albert Martinez’s Personal Background
Born in Manila on April 19, 1963, Albert Martinez’s real name is Alberto Pineda Martinez. His parents are Bert Martinez, a Spanish Mestizo, and Margarita Pineda. He is the brother of actors William and Ronnie Martinez and they have a sister – Bernadette. Not much is actually known about the school years of the actor and his life before joining showbiz.
In 1988, Albert married Liezl Sicangco, the daughter of the late Romeo Vasquez and the late veteran actress Amalia Fuentes. Their marriage was blessed with three (3) children – Alyanna, Alfonso, and Alissa. They have several businesses including massage therapy clinics abroad. Sadly, in 2011, a cancer survivor Liezl was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the lungs. She passed away in 2015.
Albert Martinez’s Showbiz Career
Albert started as a film actor in the 1980s. He played the role of Glenn in Anna Liza, his first television series under the GMA-7 network. He is vocal about his admiration towards the acting of John Travolta. Throughout his showbiz career, he was part of several hit projects and has worked under different networks. He was part of the hit movie Magnifico and TV series Sa Piling Mo, Maria Flor de Luna, May Bukas Pa, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, The General’s Daughter, and Kadenang Ginto.
