At least 17 people including children and members of the elite Special Action Force were wounded following two explosions that shook the headquarters of the Philippine National Police in Jolo, Sulu on Friday night.
Reports added that first explosion was due to a grenade thrown near a mosque inside Camp Chief Superintendent Julasirim Kasim in Barangay Asturias.
Police said they are yet to identify who threw the grenade at about 7:30 p.m.
Following minutes, another explosions occurred as policemen were still attending the first blast area.
According to various reports, three or four children were among the victims.
Initial reports added that the second blast was from an improvise explosive device (IED) purportedly meant to target people gathering after the first explosions and cause more casualties.
