Details about the 7.8 Magnitude Earthquake that Jolted Turkey, Syria
EARTHQUAKE – A 7.8 magnitude quake jolted Turkey and Syria and it is considered one of the strongest quakes in the history of the center.
Among the natural events that can happen with no hint at all are quakes. Experts across the globe agree that they can hardly be predicted with accuracy as to where a quake may hit, its intensity, and the possible effects of the natural incident.
Countries across the globe have designated centers that are tasked to monitor quake events in the nation. They are also the ones that release bulletins and advisories to the people for the safety of everyone.
Quakes with magnitude of over 5.0 are considered strong. Recently, an earthquake with 7.8 magnitude which is considered as one of the strongest to hit the center jolted Turkey and Syria.
Based on a report on CNN, the 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook the people from their beds at 4:00 a.m. in the morning. Its tremors were felt as far as Israel and Lebanon and deaths were recorded in different areas.
The epicenter of the 7.8 magnitude quake was 23 kilometers east of Nurdagi in Gaziantep, a province in Turkey. It had a depth of 24.1 kilometers as to the United States Geological Survey.
According to the report, over 60 aftershocks were recorded of the said quake including a major quake with 7.5 magnitude. It hit 80 kilometers north of the epicenter of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that jolted Turkey and Syria.
