Heart Evangelista Gets Candid About The Pressures Of Motherhood
HEART EVANGELISTA – Senator Chiz Escudero’s wife Heart Evangelista said she felt ‘pressured’ to have a baby.
Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista tied the knot on February 15, 2015 – a day after her 30th birthday — in Balesin Island Club after two (2) years of dating. in May 2018, Heart revealed that she was having twins with Chiz. However, in June of that year, the actress revealed that she had lost both of her babies.
Rumors about the couple’s breakup surfaced in 2022 after Heart erased the Escudero surname from her IG account and announced that she would be “indefinitely” staying overseas for work, including purchasing an apartment in Paris.
Such rumors were disproved when Heart Evangelista shared images of herself celebrating New Year’s Eve with Chiz Escudero and his twins Quino and Chesi — from his former marriage to Christine Flores — and subsequently on a vacation to Japan.
The 37-year-old celebrity has revealed more about the pressure she’s been under from others to fit into the standard of a typical housewife and children with Chiz.

Heart Evangelista graces the cover of MEGA magazine’s February 2023 issue, which published a portion of an interview with the Kapuso star on their website that began with grappling with such societal expectations.
“I think it was a lot about being pressured to have a baby…”
“It was not necessarily from certain people. It was really like a shift in my life: the pressures of being a wife, being a certain mold, and I just wanted to get rid of that,” Heart said.
Heart Evangelista stated that she did what she wanted to do, even if others didn’t understand why. As such the actress has become “allergic to people being so opinionated about something they don’t know,” and has grown to learn accepting she is a public figure.
“If I do want something, I’ll do it my way. I do have plans and I do like to pressure myself, but I have no regrets. And you never know when the time is up,” she continued.
“So, I will just work towards my dream. I will work towards building something for my family, for myself. But if I don’t get there, I won’t get heartbroken about it.”
Heart Evangelista also told the magazine that she had to go through “a stage under fire” and that not many people could stand by her, therefore she lost them. She said, “That’s why I’m very appreciative of my husband, my friends, because they were really there for me when we needed to go through a certain time in my life. It was painful, but it was good.”
The Pinay fashion icon further praised her husband for his support, “I think, in a way, maybe he was afraid for me, that I would be hurt by the world, or the letdowns, or people doing things to me, because he knew that I had such a gentle heart, and he thought I wouldn’t survive a heartbreak. But I can survive anything.”
