Following the tragedy of the 44 special action force members and high ranked officials, ABS-CBN’s longest running drama anthology will air Saturday its two-part tribute episodes that will star industries well-awarded actors and first time on screen-tandem, Coco Martin and Angel Locsin.
Martin will be playing the role of the late SAF elite police unit member Garry Eraña while Locsin will play Eraña’s fiancée Suzette Tucay, a lawyer.
“Ginawa po naming ‘to bilang pagbibigay-pugay para sa mga kababayan natin na isinakripisyo ang kanilang mga sarili. Isa itong magandang paraan para mabigyang-halaga natin ang lahat nang ginagawa nila para sa ating bayan,” Martin said during a solo presscon for the TV program.
Meanwhile, Martin became emotional upon seeing the trailer of the special episodes
“Very emotional yung episode kasi siyempre ipinakita talaga namin dito kung ano yung totong buhay noong isa sa mga karakter doon sa SAF Fallen 44, si Sir Garry Eraña. Talagang pinandigan namin kung ano yung totoo, kung ano yung dapat ipakita doon sa buhay nila. Kung ano yung dapat ikwento.”, Martin said.
MMK production manager Roda dela Cerna meanwhile added that the story of the late Eraña in the special episodes came personally from the family, his girlfriends, and friends.
Martin, Locsin and Ejay Falcon, who will play the character of co-SAF commando and a friend of Eraña, were chosen to do the MMK special episodes.
With the cast and production working hard for the episodes, the trailer assures a touching and inspiring story to air on Saturday and on May 2.
