Miss Grand International Owner Nawat Itsaragrisil Personally Apologizes to Pinoy Pageant Fans
MISS GRAND INTERNATIONAL – The owner and CEO of the Miss Grand International (MGI), Nawat Itsaragrisil, apologized to Filipino pageant fans.
Nawat Itsaragrisil, founder and owner of the Thailand-based pageant Miss Grand International, humbly asked for forgiveness from Filipino pageant fans for any misunderstanding in recent years. Itsaragrisil is now in the Philippines, along with the Top 9 of Miss Grand International 2022, to oversee the launch of Miss Grand Philippines under Arnold Vegafria’s ALV Pageant Circle.
Most Pinoy pageant fans are angry with Itsaragrisil.
Filipino pageant fans accused Miss Grand International of being a “cooking show” because in the ten years that the beauty pageant has been held, no Philippine representative has won the crown, even though we send strong candidates.
In his opening speech at the launch of Miss Grand Philippines this Thursday night, November 24, 2022, at the Hilton Hotel Manila, Pasay City, Nawat Itsaragrisil said to forget whatever happened because the pageant has only one goal.
“I do apologize if anything happened before, if it happened, or if you’re thinking something happened.
“Any rumor, anything, leave it there. We stop now.
“Now and the future is most important. We are the same world, we the same mission. The most important, we must learn together,” he said.

In the question-and-answer portion of the program, the Thai beauty-pageant director was asked about the left and right bashing of him and the MGI leadership. He said, “In the past, already ten years, you see Ali Forbes, ten years already, she’s still beautiful.”
He continued, “So we have so many story about Miss Grand International, MGI. In between of the Philippine fans, organization, some rumor…
“First of all, in behalf of our organization, okay, I can say, I do apologize if you’re not comfortable with anything with MGI…
“So please try again to understand each other because of MGI is very normal beauty pageant platform.
“We do a lot of production, we do a good result, we do a lot of activities.
“At this moment, I can say, very sincere, it’s not easy to produce beauty pageant contest during the time of economic crisis in the world.”
But they insisted that the quality of Miss Grand International does not suffer during their 25-day activities before the coronation night. In the year 2023, the representative of the Philippines in MGI will be with them for about a month in Vietnam.
“Different people, different kind of thinking. How can we say? I say that already that I do apologize in behalf of MGI, but I hope we can start again from today because its 10 years anniversary already.”
Nawat also said that it may not be long before the Philippines will get its first golden crown in the MGI.
Nawat Itsaragrisil also said that he’s not affected by bashers and haters. He said it would not be good for MGI’s image if he cut off the bashers.
“But I can say, I don’t angry with any article. I don’t angry because it not prove our organization, not prove myself.
“The most important prove myself is the quality of the production and the viewer during the time of live, more than two million watching, and now more than 15 million viewer for the final night.”
So, he pleaded with the fans who were disappointed with MGI: “Return, come back to us. We walk together. Let’s work together!”
The most controversial thing that happened on the 10th anniversary of Miss Grand International last October 2022 was the strike of almost 2.5 million followers on Instagram.
