Carmina Villarroel remembered this acting experience
Kapuso actress Carmina Villarroel recalled the slap that her co-star gave her that made her feel “napikon.”
Carmina has done a lot of drama scenes that required her to cry. At times, “sampalan” or scenes where one character should slap the other or they both hit each other, can be intense.
Actors draw out real emotions inside them in order to portray what their characters need to present. In an episode of Carmina’s Wala Pa Kaming Title podcast with Gelli de Belen, Candy Pangilinan, and Janice de Belen, they recalled the memorable “sampalan” scenes they did.
Carmina Villarroel shared that there was one particular slap from a co-star that she will never forget. “May buwelo, ‘yung talagang galing dito sa baba paganoon sa akin. Nawala ako sa frame at nahulog ako sa sofa. Buti na lang may sofa kasi kung walang sofa nahulog ako sa floor,” the wife of actor Zoren Legaspi shared.
Just like her fellow actresses and friends, Carmina did not reveal the identity of the said co-star. “Napikon ako, kasi ang sakit, ang sakit. Imadyinin mo may buwelo,” she said, adding that it was a good thing she has the presence of mind and continued the scene despite the pain she felt on her cheek due to the slap. For her, it was somehow intentional.
The actress was thinking that if she will discontinue, then, another take will be done and the same slap will happen. Carmina said that her co-star who slapped her that hard did not apologize to her after the scene.
It was her other co-star who approached her and asked if she was okay. Carmina Villarroel also said that it is a good thing that she wasn’t able to work with the said co-star again.
