Beauty queen-turned-actress Kylie Verzosa is the new Tanduay Calendar Girl for 2023 and this stint gives her an overwhelming feeling.
Prior to the announcement that she will be the liquor brand’s calendar girl, Kylie received acting recognition. She was hailed as the Best Actress at the 6th Dubai International Arab Festival Awards for the movie The Housemaid.
Her celebration continued as she was launched as the face of Tanduay for the next year. She succeeded Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo as a calendar girl of the said brand.
During the interview after she was launched, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Kylie Verzosa said that it feels surreal to the new Tanduay calendar girl because prior to her, big names in the industry were hailed as calendar girls also.
“It feels surreal to become a Tanduay Calendar Girl, especially if you consider all the strong and beautiful women who came before me like Heart Evangelista, KC Concepcion, and Bea Alonzo. It feels great to be in their company,” Kylie said.
Tanduay Distillers International Business Development Manager and Senior Brand Manager, Inc. Marc Ngo said that as an actress, beauty queen, and advocate of mental health, Kylie is fit to be the brand’s calendar girl.
Aside from being a multitalented celebrity, he said that Kylie is equipped with “beauty and brains.” “She is the perfect embodiment of the brand for 2023 as we seek to engage with varied customer profiles in different markets while continuing to serve our customers in the Philippines,” the brand’s manager said.
Being the calendar girl of Tanduay, Kylie is aware that this stint comes with responsibility. She said that the brand has become a part of the lives of many Filipinos for more than a century now. The actress also believes that despite the surfacing of new brands in the market now, Tanduay was able to maintain attracting customers.
Kylie Verzosa also highlighted that she likes that Tanduay is using local materials in creating rum. “It’s great to see a homegrown Filipino brand competing in the world stage,” the actress said.
