Bagyong Ruby (Hagupit) continue to weakened on Monday night, December 8, 2014 as it made its fourth landfall in Batangas Province, just a few miles from the country’s capital, the National Capital Region. According to PAGASA, as of 10:00 PM, on Monday, the center of Bagyong Ruby was estimated at 45 kilometers south of Barangay Ambulong in Tanauan City, Batangas.
The weather disturbance that devastates some areas of Samar, Bicol Region and Masbate made its fourth landfall at around 5:45 PM, in Barangay Laiya, in San Juan, Batangas, as confirmed by PAGASA.
Bagyong Ruby was packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 kph, it was moving west at 13 kph speed. PAGASA forecasts that the typhoon Hagupit will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Wednesday night.
PAGASA hoisted Public Storm Warning Signal No. 2 over Batangas, Northern Oriental Mindoro and Northern Occidental Mindoro, including Lubang Island. The Signal No. 1 on the other hand is hoisted over Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Southern Quezon and the rest of Mindoro Provinces.
Meanwhile, according to the National Government, through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, they confirmed a total of two deaths during the onslaught of Bagyong Ruby, the typhoon that ravaged Visayas and the Biclo Region with an estimated 1.8 million people affected during its entry in the Philippines.
