Ogie Diaz talked about his job as a talent manager
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz reacted to people who are saying that he made It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda and Lisa Frankenstein actress Liza Soberano “sikat.”
From being a showbiz reporter, Ogie had the chance to be an actor. Eventually, he became a manager and he has conducted acting workshops that helped a lot of artists. He is the first manager of Vice, who is now being tagged as the Unkabogable Star.
Ogie also managed Liza’s career for almost 11 years. The actress is known as one of the premiere stars of her generation. However, both Vice and Liza left Ogie as their talent manager.
In an interview on Julius and Tintin show on One News PH, Ogie Diaz shared that there was no ill feeling on his part when he parted ways with his former talents. He stressed that he respected Vice and Liza’s decision and he accepts the fact that certain things come to an end.
During the interview, he also reacted to some people’s perception that he was the one who made Vice and Liza famous. “Hindi. Sila ang nagpasikat sa sarili nila kasi tulay lang ako,” the talent manager said.
He explained that if Liza or Vice can’t fulfill their showbiz engagements because they are sick, he can’t take their place and do the roles or duties of his talents. “Sila ang dahilan kung bakit sila sumikat,” Ogie stressed, adding that these stars worked hard for it.
In the same interview, the talent manager also shared the story of how he became Vice Ganda and Liza Soberano’s talent manager. He also shared how he handles talents with different personalities and attitudes. Ogie Diaz also opened up about the artists he handled who were “pasaway.”
