Dina Bonnevie mentioned her ex-husband Vic Sotto in a recent interview
Seasoned actress Dina Bonnevie revealed that her ex-husband veteran comedian-host Vic Sotto has taught her this important thing.
Dina is one of the prominent actresses of her generation. Until now, her caliber in acting is being admired by many younger stars. Throughout the years, she has presented various remarkable performances to her audience.
Her recent TV project is a sitcom which is not the usual genre she does for the small screen. Dina, in a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, admitted that her sitcom Kalye Kweens with Alma Moreno and Jeric Raval is different from her previous projects.
“I’ve done television shows in the past that were a bit light, but not exactly comedy. But this is the first time (that I’m doing) all-out comedy, sabi ko kakaiba,” Dina Bonnevie said.
When it comes to comedy, the seasoned actress shared that Vic Sotto gave her a very important tip. The Eat Bulaga host told Dina that people should laugh at the situation.
“Vic would always say that if you’re doing comedy, ‘wag kang magpatawa. Kailangan matawa yung tao sa sitwasyon… Just be the character. That’s what I always remember when I get to the scene,” the seasoned actress revealed.
Dina described her character in the sitcom as someone who is always ready to fight and this is how the character of Alma behaves also. However, the latter’s character has her “pasosyal” side and Dina’s character would always go against it and so the comedy comes from their clashes.
Although this is the first legit comedic stint that Dina Bonnevie did, she shared that it was not difficult for her to portray her role. She shared that there were times when she is delivering her dialogue and Alma would suddenly laugh because of how funny she is. “Ako naman, I just snap what’s in the dialogue. Bitaw lang as if it’s my character,” Dina said.
