Vice Ganda showcased how he did his ‘Petrang Kabayo’ role
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda reacted to the critics of his movies during a recent episode of the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime.
Vice has done many comedy movies that are blockbuster hits. Several of them were featured in Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Over the years, he has established his trademark in comedy movies.
In a recent episode of Showtime, Vice recalled his Petrang Kabayo movie. Based on the article in Bandera, the comedian-host saw a contestant of Miss Q and A kept on moving her lips as if she was conscious of her lipstick.
Vice Ganda said that was the same as he did in his 2010 fantasy-comedy movie. “Papunta na siya kay Petrang Kabayo, yung nagta-transform na.Ganyan ako doon sa pelikula eh,” he shared as he showed his facial expression leading to the said transformation to his horse character.
This amused other hosts of the noontime show. He said that his transformation in that movie did not use CGI (computer-generated imagery) effects. “Walang effects ‘yun noong ginawa ko ‘yung Petrang Kabayo. Laki ng kinita ng Viva doon. Box-office ‘yun, walang effects,” Vice shared.
Ryan Bang commented, “Mommy parang totoo.” Then, Vice answered, “Sa palagay n’yo na-flatter ako doon? Compliment ‘yun? Compliment? Makakasama sa legacy ko ‘to bilang isang artista?”
With this, the comedian-host shared his message to those who criticize his movies. “Kaya hindi n’yo pwedeng puchu-puchuin at minimenus ang pelikula ko na parang walang kakwenta-kwenta ang pelikula ko. Pinaghirapan namin [‘yun],” he stressed.
Vice pointed out that he work hard for it and people would just criticize his work. “Nilalait n’yo ang pelikula ko, ang hirap-hirap non,” he said. Later on, the noontime show host said that he hoped that he did not show that transformation because people would spread his “ugly” pictures online. “Paganda ako nang paganda pero ‘yung mga kumakalat na picture ko ‘yung mga sasaksakan ng pangit kong picture,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vice Ganda’s “hugot” after a power shortage during It’s Showtime live airing just recently caught the attention of the online community.
