Manny Pacquiao has chosen the international singing sensation Charice Pempengco to sing the national anthem of the Philippines during his much awaited fight to Sugar Shane Mosley this coming May 7 in the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas.
Michael Koncz, Pacquiao’s advisor said that it was Manny who personally picked Charice to sing the “Lupang Hinirang” in his upcoming fight with Mosley.
The negotiations were done in Los Angeles, where a representative from team Pacquiao has personally talked to Charice and they are very much pleased that Charice accepted the offer.
According to Koncz, Charice was very much excited to proudly sing the national anthem of the Philippines in front of million viewers around the world.
Before the offer has been made, back in 2009, Charice has already expresses her desire to sing in one of Pacquiao’s fight in the future if the boxing champ would permit her.
Pacquiao team is very much honored that Charice accepted the offer and they are thankful for that.
On the other hand, while Manny is preparing for his fight against Mosley, the pound for pound king is also busy rehearsing for his post fight concert. Pacquiao said that singing has been one of his hobbies and it helps him relax.
In every fight of Pacquiao, it has been a tradition that Manny will hold a mini concert where in he will sing in front of his fans and colleagues.
