Jameson Blake had a good relationship with his stepfather
Kapamilya actor Jameson Blake got emotional while talking about his stepfather Fidel Malinaw who died in 2021.
In a recent interview on talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, Jameson shared glimpses of his life behind the camera. The actor shared that currently, he and his mom are living together because his brother is in the U.S. while his sister is in Hong Kong.
Jameson said that when her stepfather passed away, a noticeable silence filled their home because the latter was “makulit” and would always make them laugh even though his jokes are sometimes corny.
There are times Jameson Blakes’s mother would be sad as she would think about his stepfather because she misses him. At this point, the actor cried as he also misses his stepfather who was “super mabait” to him.
The actor said that his stepfather was the “energy” in their family. When asked about the love story of his mother and his stepfather, Jameson shared that they were lovers during their teenage years.
When Jameson’s family back to his mother’s home in Pampanga, the former lovers got back together after so many years. The actor said that he is thankful to his stepfather because the latter never maltreated his mother. “Pag nag-away sila, parang he will not fight back,” Jameson shared.
He also recalled the first and the last time he told his stepfather that he loves him. That was a month before his stepfather passed away. His ailing stepfather said that he does not think he would still be there until Christmas, Jameson answered, “huwag mong sabihin yan, kayang-kaya mo pa. Alam mo namang mahal kita.”
With this, the actor realized that it is important to express love to his parents and this has become his habit towards his mom. Recalling the frantic moment when they bought his stepfather to the hospital, Jameson Blake was emotional. Back then, he recalled repeatedly saying to his stepfather “mahal kita.”
