Despite his popularity in the field of Philippine music, Chito Miranda has maintained his family life quite private from the eyes of the public. Not much is known about his parents and siblings but some of his celebrity friends have surely met his family.
Recently, it was confirmed that Chito Miranda’s father, Alfonso P. Miranda, has died. It was confirmed by the Parokya ni Edgar lead singer as he sought understanding for their family’s decision to “keep everything simple and intimate”. Here’s his Instagram post:

While some people made their names in the showbiz industry, there are also those who set fame in the field of Philippine music. One of them is Parokya ni Edgar lead singer, Chito Miranda.
Personal Background:
Born on February 7, 1976, Chito Miranda came from a non-showbiz family thus not much is known about his parents and his siblings. With regards to his educational background, he had his elementary and high school years spent as a student of Ateneo de Manila University. It was where he met his bandmates, Gab Chee Kee, Jeric Estaco, Vinci Montaner, and Mikko Yap.
Later on, Buwi Meneses and Dindin Moreno joined the band as the bassist and drummer of Parokya ni Edgar. However, Estaco and Yap left the band to push through with their other interests. Darius who is the lead guitarist joined the group.
Parokya ni Edgar:
The band had regular performance at Club Dredd, one of the most popular clubs in Manila then. They climbed to the ladder of popularity at the peak of the hit of Filipino rock. Their success led to being offered to be contract artists of Universal Records. Bella Dy Tan and Alexis Tan signed them after they saw the band’s performance at Club Dredd.
Chito Miranda’s Family:
Chito Miranda is married to actress-businesswoman Neri Naig. In 2014, the couple officially tied the knot in a civil wedding ceremony on the 13th day of December. The following day, they had a formal wedding in Tagaytay. In 2015, the actress got pregnant but suffered a miscarriage. In 2016, the couple welcomed their first son, Miguel “Miggy” Miranda. In October 2021, they welcomed their second son, Cash.
