SSS Implements Additional Security Features in its Online Portal To Secure Safety of Members
The Social Security System has imposed additional security features on its online portal for the safety of its members.
On Friday (May 6, 2022), SSS president and CEO Michael Regino said that the portal “My.SSS” has stricter guidelines upon enrollment in a disbursement account in the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM).
The members, employers, and pensioners will be required to submit proof of disbursement accounts such as a photo holding the uploaded proof of disbursement account and ID card, valid government identification cards, and documents.
Regino said that the agency will also implement additional internal procedures to enhance the evaluation and approval process of disbursement accounts.
“We are continuously monitoring our systems to make necessary improvements to protect the accounts of our stakeholders and ensure that benefit and loan proceeds are disbursed to the rightful recipients. Within this month, the Online Member Data Change Request – Updating of Contact Information will also be resumed through the My.SSS Portal with enhanced security features,” Regino said.
The SSS official has advised the public to avoid sharing personal information, especially their login details with other people. The members have been also advised to change their passwords regularly.
The agency instructed the members to report any unauthorized transaction in their My.SSS account on nearest SSS branch. Members can also send emails to SSS’ Special Investigation Department at [email protected].
The officer said that the agency will file charges against anyone who will defraud members.
