The Philippines’ most popular independent film festival, Cinemalaya revealed to the public the official list of Top 10 Finalists and the Directors Showcase for the 2014 Independent Film Festival and Competition. The film festival is organized by Cinemalaya Foundation Inc., and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
According to the organizers of the event, the themes and subject matter of the 2014 Cinemalaya finalists are diverse. Some film-entry stories is about the disappearance of a young girl believed to have been eaten by crocodile, there is also an entry about the friendship among soldiers fighting during the World War II.
Based upon the various independent film entries, there is also a story about T’boli epic, most of the movies cover a range of genres, such as romance, comedy, epic and action. The Cinemalaya will be held on August 1-10 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Greenbelt 3, TriNoma and Alabang Town Center.
