The Filipinos were named as the ‘most obsessed’ fans of the young adult best-selling novel “The Fault In Our Stars” written by the American award-winning author John Green.
In an article written by Jack Linshi published in Time, a Google data showed that Philippines has the search volume index of 100 using the term “The Fault In Our Stars”. It is more than double than that of United States who has only 44.

United States was followed with Singapore whose search volume index for the novel is 38. The next two countries are Australia with 36 and New Zealand with 35.
“The Fault In Our Stars” which debuted on 2012 and topped the New York’s best selling novels, tells the story of the 16-year-old cancer patient named Hazel Grace Lancaster who falls in love with Augustus Waters after they met in a support group.
The novel was also inspired by a 16-year-old Esther Earl who passed away because of thyroid cancer. The 26-year-old author acknowledged her for inspiring him to write a novel.
The novel was also adapted for film of the same title which was distributed 20th Century Fox. Young actor Ansel Elgort and the award-winning actress Shailene Woodley plays the role of the lead characters.
It was first released on June 2, 2014 in USA and still showing on theaters in different numerous countries including Philippines.
Meanwhile, “The Fault In Our Stars” Filipino translation is now available in National Bookstore branches nationwide. It was translated by Danton Remoto, a renowned Filipino writer.
