Xian Lim Statement on Rumored “Captain Barbell” Role

Kapamilya actor Xian Lim finally made an official statement as he speaks up on the rumors that he will be the next Captain Barbell, one of the country’s most popular super hero. Xian’s Lim statement was made during the launching of his newest album “XL2” under Star Records.

The 24-year-old Xian Lim, stated in an interview that he would be happy to play the character created by the famous Filipino comic icon, Mars Ravelo, if it will be given to him.

Xian Lim was quoted as saying “May mga nakikita akong online voting, ang mga supporter they are really excited to the point na gagawa sila ng kani-kanilang voting. So siyempre nakikita ko rin yung efforts nila and I’m sure excited na din sila na makita ako back on TV. So maraming salamat sinusuportahan nila ako doon,” Lim said.

The Kapamilya actor added further that “Siyempre ako why not, hindi ba? Isang dream role yan para sa kahit sinong aktor. … Kung totoo man, kung mangyari man I will be forever grateful. That will be an achievement kung mangyari man,” Xian Lim stated.

According to the actor and recording star, Xian Lim, he already watched the 1986 movie of “Captain Barbell” featuring Edu Manzano and the former actor and current Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista who played the role of Tenteng.

As of posting time, there is still no clear indication of whoever will play the lead role in the hit superhero Captain Barbell. Earlier this year, there are rumors online that Coco Martin will play the lead role as Captain Barbell but the actor denied the issue.

The last time that Captain Barbell appeared on national TV was way back the year 2006 with Richard Gutierrez playing the lead role in TV’s adaptation of the series by GMA-7.

ABS-CBN then won the rights to “Captain Barbell” and 12 other titles or characters created by Mars Ravelo including “Dyesebel” and other comic series of the legendary comics creator Mars Ravelo.
