To continue giving the best for the Filipino crowd, Team Azkals were eyeing a practice and tuned-up games in Germany as preparation for their upcoming match with the football team from Sri Lanka this July 3 to be held in the Philippines.

This venture was part of the Philippines set plan for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. Football was not a popular game in the country before but today, after the success of team Azkals, Filipino’s were starting to embrace the said game.

German Coach Michael Weiss and team manager Dan Palami were working hard to get a stint in Germany after the failure of their plans to land a tuned-up games both in Australia and Qatar for both could not provide teams that would play against team Azkals. If the plan will be pursued, Azkals will be flying to Germany from June 7 to 17 for the foreign practice and will be back to the Philippines for home court trainings.

With regards to the upcoming match against Sri Lanka, no specific location was chosen but among the options includes Rizal Memorial Stadium, however, it’s still not certain since organizers had to check the security of the place as well as its viewing capacity, if it can accommodate an expected 20,000 crowd just like the crowd that conquered Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental during the team’s game against Mongolia.
